treffpunkt sprachen- Zentrum für Sprache, Plurilingualismus und Fachdidaktik – and the Learner Autonomy Special Interest Group (LASIG) of  IATEFL.

Graz, Austria, Friday, June 1st and Saturday, June 2nd, 2012

“The schools that kids love have the quality of active learning environments, allowing students to become shareholders of their own learning.” (Rogers, 1969:9).

How can we as teachers set up a learning environment that promotes meaningful and better learning for our students? Four internationally acclaimed researchers and practitioners in the field of learner autonomy will address this vital question in their plenary talks:

Leni Dam, LASIG coordinator, Denmark
Lienhard Legenhausen, University of Münster, Germany
Ema Ushioda, University of Warwick, UK

Apart from the four plenaries, there will be several rounds of parallel talks and workshops.
